GiLBOB (Catherine Gilbey) was born in 1970 and grew up in Ilkley, then settled in Norwich in 1994.

She started cartooning at 16 and although self taught, she took The Cartoon Academy Diploma in 2002 and passed with distinction in all categories.

Most of her artwork is created in full colour using Indian ink and then printed as greeting cards.

"I discovered as a teenager that creating cartoons allowed my imagination and daft sense of humour to run wild; there are no rules or boundaries.

My cartoons have no hidden messages or sinister meanings; just colourful and eye catching artwork that raises a smile.

My sense of humour is quite varied, appealing to a wide audience, and I am the first to admit that sometimes I haven’t a clue where my ideas come from, they do quite literally ‘pop’ into my head."
